Responsibilities & Essential Duties

Craftsperson s primary responsibilities will be to perform their area of expertise: carpentry, concrete, steel worker, mason, trim carpenter, or welding. When not performing their area of expertise, the team member is expected to work alongside other Lantz craftspeople & Tradespersons contributing to the overall production of the project.

Area of Expertise Requirements

  • Ability to frame wood or metal structures, including setting of wood roof trusses
  • Ability to form concrete footers, piers, steps, & walls
  • Ability to place & finish concrete slabs, sidewalks, & steps
  • Ability to lay CMU, Brick, or Stone
  • Ability to erect structural & miscellaneous steel
  • Ability to perform rigging to move and erect structural & miscellaneous steel
  • Ability to weld structural steel, decking, & miscellaneous steel
  • Ability to install standing & running trim (millwork)
  • Ability to set doors, frames, & commercial hardware
  • Ability to set windows and install flashings
  • Ability to install toilet partitions & accessories

Expected Hours of Work: Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 40 hours per week. This position occasionally requires long hours and weekend work.

Certifications (preferred but not mandatory)

  • OSHA 10-HOUR
  • CPR/First Aid

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); OR one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in the related field to include skill in at least one of the following areas: heavy equipment operation, concrete finishing, carpentry, steel erection, or welding
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to read and comprehend all warning signs and labels on a construction site
  • Ability to sufficiently understand and interpret plans, drawings, and written instructions/specifications
  • His or her own hand tools
  • Good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and balance
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client satisfaction

Preferred Education and Experience

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Vocational classes in welding, construction, safety, first aid, blueprint reading, basic mathematics, and different carpentry techniques and other general building skills are helpful

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have valid driver license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks
  • Ability to work in all weather
  • Workers must be punctual and reliable

Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
