Job Title: On-site Safety Manager
Location: Hegewisch neighborhood of Chicago, IL

We have been fulfilling transportation needs since 1968 and serving major suppliers, steel mills, and automotive suppliers as well as the specialized shippers of America. We provide trucking, warehousing, yard management, and transload services.
We believe safety is a priority, not an option. Our on-site safety manager will lead our effort in ensuring drivers and trucks are DOT compliant. Position works on-site in the Hegewisch neighborhood of Chicago, IL.
Job Duties:
- Pro-actively oversee safety efforts at worksite
- Coordinate investigations for accidents, including property damage and DOT reportable events.
- Assist in compliance with driver’s hour of service regulations.
- Ensure trucks are DOT compliant
- Organize training and safety programs.
- Analyze risk and develop corrective programs.
- Suggest improvements, solutions and prevention steps for safety issues.
- Conduct mock inspections and driver audits.
- Oversee on-site safety reps and evaluate performance.
- Liaison with on-site and off-site managers and directors.
Qualifications:
- Previous safety or DOT compliance experience
- Management experience
- Familiarly with tractor trailers
- Previous CDL driving experience a plus
- Valid driver's license (position will be required to drive a company vehicle).
Salary / Schedule:
Monday through Friday 10 AM to 8 PM.
Salary / wage commensurate with experience.
