Lead Automotive Service Technician

Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Service Technician/Mechanic to join us at Strom German Auto Service. We are a growing company that has involvement in both Motorsports and German Auto Service. Your role will be to service, diagnose and repair German vehicles at our Costa Mesa shop as well as oversee and help less experienced technicians. Daily work flow will be similar to a dealership service environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Audi/VW, Porsche and BMW vehicles
• Perform vehicle inspections, troubleshooting and testing to determine required or recommended repairs
• Complete factory-recommended maintenance according to manufacturer schedules
• Understand and be able to use Autologic, ODIS Service Software and ErWIN Portal
• Maintain documentation about work performed on each vehicle
• Knowledge of all tools and equipment required to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and service vehicles
• Attend pertinent training at company request

Managerial Responsibilities

• Supervise, Assist and Coach other technicians in diagnosis and general training.
• Work with Service Writer to manage shop workflow and to optimize quality of service from beginning to end for customers.
• Ensure that the shop area is clean, organized and safe.
• Manage and delegate tasks related to facilities maintenance including shop equipment, lights, building etc.

Qualifications and Skills

• Attention to detail, deadline oriented
• Knowledge of all tools and equipment required to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and service vehicles
• Critical thinking ability - look at a task or problem and come up with a logical path to solving it
• Maintain a clean and efficient work area and assist in keeping the shop neat and organized
• Punctual and reliable
• Maintain a professional personal appearance
• A desire to work hard and constantly improve
• High School Diploma
• 3+ years of dealership automotive technician experience
• Complete set of automotive tools
• Valid Driver's license
• Willing to undergo a background check

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour plus flat rate bonuses
