Sheet Vinyl Flooring Installer/Crew Contract

Skyler Design Build, LLC (“Skyler”) is currently looking to fill a contract to full time Sheet Vinyl Flooring Installer position in Lone Tree, CO operations. This position applies advanced knowledge to perform professional sheet vinyl installation, wall and floor tile installation that may include construct, fabricate, install and demolition work and finish carpentry when necessary inside hospitals throughout Colorado. Candidate must have the ability to read and interpret instructions and document, plan, and perform work activities independently with guidance from a classified journeyman/journeywoman or other project supervision. Position has path toward field supervision and beyond for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

· Floor Prep: sweep, scrape, sand, or clean base surfaces to correct imperfections that may show

· Proper floor installation of custom designs on walls and floors

· Mix and apply required compounds to join and adhere foundation / flooring material

· Knowledge and experience working with vinyl, laminates, natural stone, porcelain, ceramic, glass, metal and other tile materials

· Waterproofing and core testing

· Capable of performing a variety of calculations related to surface area, cubic volume and estimating material quantities

· Installs architectural finishes according to specifications and plans if necessary on job.

· Maintains a clean and safe job site.

· Follows all written paperwork and knows when to request help from office or project manager.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

· Reads blueprints and shop drawings.

· Utilizes carpentry math to calculate measurements required to construct facilities.

· Determines elevations and layout through the use of builder levels, transits, lasers, etc.

· Use and maintain hand tools, portable power tools, welding tools, and stationary power tools in a safe manner

Experience/Skills

· Results oriented and self-motivated, excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Must be able to complete basic floor covering installations, specifically sheet vinyl Install primarily Sheet Vinyl, but other flooring types as needed, including LVT & LVP, VCT, carpet, sheet vinyl, wood, laminate, tile, and other specified flooring.

· Perform analysis and interpret results into actionable steps.

· Hardworking attitude and punctual.

· Certified Tile Installer (CTI), ideal but not required.

· Commercial Flooring Sheet Vinyl Installer Experience / Technical Skills Required :

Qualifications

· High school diploma required.

· 3+ years’ experience in commercial construction, previous experience on commercial job sites, mission critical construction, and hospital construction strongly preferred.

· Passion for construction and our industry; ability to recognize and seek quality.

· Constant standing, walking, reaching, crawling, balancing, and grasping.

· Frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, climbing, stooping/crouching, kneeling, and working in dusty areas.

· Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds of material and up to 90 pounds of material with assistance, if requested.

· All aspects of vision are required – acuity, depth perception, and field of vision.

· Ability to talk and hear is very important for communication with supervisor and co-workers on safety and operational matters.

· Working during inclement weather, could be exposed to extreme cold and heat, noise and dust from construction operations depending upon project site.

· Willingness to travel local and nationwide 75%+.

· Reliable transportation.

· Ability to pass drug and alcohol test.

· Ability to pass background check.

· Legal authorization to work in U.S.

· Valid driver’s license, ideal but not required.

· Speak Spanish and English, ideal but not required.
