Job description
  • Process inbound calls concerning account questions, product and service information, bank policy, and various customer requests. Respond to customer phone inquiries regarding a full range of customer transactions and banking products and services.
  • Seek opportunities to attract, retain, and expand customer relationships. Assess customer needs and describe recommended product features and benefits to existing and potential customers.
  • Assist customers with problem resolution and provide technical and customer-service oriented support to remedy customer issues. Is knowledgeable about general banking issues in order to provide assistance and support in the areas of balances, transfers, rates, charges, product information, debit and credit card inquiries, lost cards, general mortgage inquires and NetTeller, bank-by-phone, mobile banking and website functionality. Willingly take on special projects and perform other services in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Open and close deposit accounts via phone and take personal and home equity loan applications. Refer in-depth questions to appropriate bank specialist when necessary.
  • Conduct outbound calling to generate sales by establishing new customers or expanding existing relationships. Conduct pre-call planning from lead sources to maximize outbound calling efforts.
  • Constructively interact with co-workers.

HOURS will average approximately 40 per week and will include working some Saturdays. This position is budgeted for 2,080 hours per year.

  • Ability to use Excel, Word, AS400 System, job-related software programs, internet, mobile banking, debit card usage, etc.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to use general office/job related equipment such as a telephone, calculator, fax/copy machine, typewriter and switchboard.
  • Ability to recognize customer relationship building opportunities and up sell, cross-sell, and refer products and services.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time.
  • Ability to type a net 30 WPM.
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of bank products, services, policies and procedures. (preferred)
