Position Overview:
The Senior Test Engineer will conduct vehicle-level validation testing, data collection and analysis, and data reporting and documentation. This individual will contribute within the greater Integrated Product Development team to validate the vehicle-level performance requirements are met and to assist in resolving any discrepancies. Navistar is seeking a
Senior Test Engineer to join the Vehicle Dynamics Validation team. This position is focused on Brake system and ADAS performance validation testing. This position is located at the Navistar Proving Grounds in New Carlisle, Indiana.
The Senior Test Engineer will conduct vehicle-level validation testing, data collection and analysis, and data reporting and documentation. This individual will contribute within the greater Integrated Product Development team to validate the vehicle-level performance requirements are met and to assist in resolving any discrepancies.
- Coordination of test vehicle preparation including component upfit and instrumentation
- In-vehicle testing on three-mile oval track and vehicle dynamic areas using data acquisition
- Driving commercial trucks and buses to perform defined braking and ADAS maneuvers
- Validating vehicle performance according to System Design Requirements Documents (DRD’s)
- Support issue resolutions using rigorous problem-solving practices
- Provide technical and analytical support to Product Development Engineering
- Design, develop and implement validation test procedures for full vehicles, vehicle components and vehicle systems
- Completion of System level DVP&R
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- At least 2 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
OR
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology

Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. - Experience with testing vehicle brake system and ADAS feature performance
- Demonstrate judgment within defined, standard practices/procedures to determine appropriate action
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent Communication Skills – both written and verbal
- Experience in troubleshooting mechanical/electrical systems
