About the role


Position Summary

The Senior Scientist, Sweet BU is a technical expert located in Battle Creek, Michigan. This person will provide technical flavor and technology applications support to WK Kellogg and Kellanova businesses. Both businesses are vital customers of the Sweet BU, which has been growing as a direct result of having this position available to us.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide direct applications support on-site in the labs and pilot plant for samples involving Symrise flavors and ingredients in both Sweet and Savory applications.
  • Be the liaison between the Kellogg development team and the Sweet & Savory Applications teams in Teterboro.
  • Help source unique ingredients needed for more accurate concept development.
  • Maintain on-site flavor tool box, working closely with RCT/Portfolio to restock and refresh samples.
  • Act as the applications receiver and deliverer to ensure samples arrive to the right person in a timely manner.
  • Lead key development projects from the Kellogg R&D center, when applicable.
  • Mentor developers in Teterboro on sample production methods of the various Kellogg brands.

About you


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years experience in food product development or process engineering
  • Ability to work remotely
  • Intimate knowledge of all the historic Kellogg brands and the technical knowledge on how they are created.
  • Ability to travel to Teterboro once every 4-8 weeks (on average)
