The Candidate:

This is sales Engineering position focuses on systems solutions in the automation, controls, switchgear space. Ideally, the candidate is already a sales engineer in the industry or is an industry specialist who wishes to transition to a position with commercial responsibility. Cubicle escapees welcome!

Purpose and Objectives of the Position:

The (Senior) Sales Engineer Position is a customer-facing technical sales position with the responsibility to assist customers in meeting their needs for more reliable power systems. And implement the company’s product and technology goals at the assigned accounts.

An Electric Utility or technical background is expected. Experience in switchgear, controls, system protection, T&D equipment and grid automation are positives for this position. Sales experience is not a pre-requisite, but technical analysis and problem solving are.

A wide range of industry contacts and rapport is a plus but must be developed to be successful.

Meeting and Seminar Leadership

o Support HiReli customers, including Utilities, Electrical Wholesalers and Specifiers as a senior member of the tech sales team.

o Provide technical and administrative assistance in the application, problem solving, proposal creation, training and required customer follow up.

o Manage a matrix of products and projects supporting HiReli customers, i.e., the right products and proposals for customer projects.

o Translate principals’ products and needs into HiReli customer focused action plans.

o Be an effective presenter of webinars and in-person presentations.

o This is a customer facing position with both technical and commercial activities.

Typical Position Requirements:

o BS in Engineering or a 4-year business or STEM degree from an accredited university or college, with equivalent experience.

o 5 Years’ experience in the electrical power industry, or similar industry experience.

o Strong controls and automation background.

o Ability to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues.

o A PE is a plus.

o Effective user of MS Office (Word, Teams, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Salesforce.com (SFDC) is a plus.

o Technical product and SFDC training will be provided.

o US Citizenship or Permanent US Residency.

Typical Activities:

o Technical sales coverage of assigned accounts, in person and via webinars, etc.

o Analysis of customer’s current equipment and software to offer appropriate solutions.

o Provide solutions that minimize Human Interface Errors, improving safety.

o Problem solving and forensic analysis for field “issues.”

o Specification coverage to develop informed preferences for HiReli products.

o Work with customers, support team, and principals, on proposal requests and presentations.

o The primary customer contact for interface with the HiReli Team (Applied Technology, Customer Support, Factory FAEs, etc.)

o Monitoring incoming orders, assure compliance with proposals.

o Coordinate with HiReli Customer Support/Project Administration on customer updates.

o Product development – Communicating among Customers, Principals, and HiReli team on required or proposed customer needs and advanced technologies.

o Review terms, conditions and contracts.

o Schedule customer presentations, webinars, and factory visits.

o Coordinate field service / aftermarket support as needed.

o This position reports to the Sales Manager, Utility.

o Location > Home Office, routine business travel is required.

o Company vehicle, laptop, etc., and other business essentials are provided.
