Senior Manager, Software Engineering

How You can Make an Impact:

As a Senior Manager, Software Engineering, you will evolve the existing software systems, infrastructure, and architecture as needed to support growth, SLAs, and continued operation within selected OS, database, and integrated commercial software. This position will also provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development. You’ll get to make your mark here at Ontada by:

• Working closely with Product Owners, Sales, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance, and Project Management for understanding the functional and non-functional requirements of a system, service, or product offering

• Demonstrate leadership abilities across operation teams within production to address customer needs for support, issue analysis, enhancements, and corrective actions

• Coordinate release, sprint, and project planning with coordinated meetings as needed to ensure project tracking and completion

• Collaborate with system, network, and storage teams on budget/growth planning for database, storage, server, and network systems

• Maintain and monitor individual employees’ performance plans

What You’ll Need

• 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering leveraging Java technologies (J2EE, Springboot, etc)

• 5+ years of technical management experience in software engineering

• 5+ years of experience in a people leader capacity

• Experience building and deploying applications and data to platforms such as Azure, GCP, Cloud Foundry, or AWS

• Experience building automated solutions to replicate simple and complex workflows in organizations such as single workflow, robotic handover, machine learning

What Will Help You Excel?

• Experience working with messaging frameworks such as Redis, Kafka

• API experience, REST or similar, Integration experience - Mulesoft

• Experience with configuration management software such as chef or puppet

• Ability to understand the business and technical requirements while developing the associated content and documentation

• Experience working in a global software engineering function
