The Senior Manager of Intake and Outreach is responsible for (1) managing the Intake and Outreach team of four compliance professionals, (2) leading the Intake processes by which the Energy Regulation Compliance Program (ERCP) monitors new energy regulation compliance requirements applicable to SCE from the California Public Utilities Commission (“CPUC”), the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (“FERC”), the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (“NERC”), the California Energy Commission (“CEC”), the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (“CFTC”), the California Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety (Energy Safety) and the California Independent System Operator (“CAISO”); (3) leading the NERC related outreach and advocacy functions; and (4) representing the Company on various NERC-related industry committees. In addition, the Senior Manager is part of the Operational Compliance leadership team and is responsible for being a key leader in the ongoing implementation and maturity of the ERCP risk-based compliance model.

Manage a team of employees who champion SCE’s values and promote and support a culture of safety, diversity & inclusion, personal development, and continuous improvement
Lead all aspects of the ERCP Intake function to help ensure all new energy-related regulatory requirements are identified and assigned to Compliance Leads in a timely and accurate manner.
Lead the NERC outreach and advocacy function to help ensure all internal NERC-related partners are aware of upcoming changes to regulations and that SCE’s position on future NERC and Western Electricity Coordinating Council (“WECC”) regulations are effectively communicated through the NERC/WECC stakeholder processes. This includes drafting formal written comments on proposed changes to or new regulations on behalf of SCE, as needed.
Represent the company on various industry committees related to NERC regulations and provide support to the Director of Operational Compliance in their capacity as the Company’s representative on other EEI/NERC/WECC committees.
As part of the Operational Compliance leadership team, be an active leader in the ongoing implementation and maturity of the ERCP risk-based compliance model. Drive a culture of continuous improvement and be an active member of the Operational Compliance Strategy team.
Lead special projects related to maturing the risk-based compliance model.
The essentials
Five (5) years of experience in CPUC, FERC, and/or NERC regulatory advocacy, policy, and/or compliance
Five (5) years of experience leading an organization, unit, or cross-functional project teams
The preferred
Experience related to interpreting NERC/CIP Standards
Strong oral and written communication skills as well as presentation skills to effectively communicate and interact with personnel at all levels, including executive management, throughout the organization.
Strong ethics, influence and negotiation, and leadership skills.
Ability to work effectively and be flexible in a variety of situations, including those involving uncertainty, lack of information, and changing circumstances.
Attention to detail and ability to resolve complex issues.
Experience participating on industry committees or peer groups
Detailed knowledge and experience implementing the NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standards

This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
