About This Role

Biogen’s Senior Manager of Consumer and Marketing Insights will be a strategic advisor and expert customer researcher within the Customer Excellence & Operations organization. This individual will prepare Biogen for the launch of a novel treatment for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and Postpartum Depression (PPD). The needs of the patients in this market are diverse and complex, and we are seeking an experienced team member who can uncover key insights that guide patient decision-making within these markets. You will work with the commercial team to scope and prioritize the most important consumer hypotheses and needs, guiding them to the optimal research approach. As a partner to commercial and marketing leadership, you will also work across the organization, including Marketing, Field Force Excellence, Omnichannel (Digital) Excellence, Patient Services, and others.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a key strategic thought partner for the consumer marketing team and go-to team member for insights related to patients with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and Postpartum Depression (PPD)
  • In collaboration with the alliance insights leads, prioritize key business questions and define insights plan and other analytical projects to best address them
  • Design and conduct market research on areas such as consumer behavior, product preference, and brand health tracking. Advocate for identified customer needs amongst a diverse set of internal audiences
  • Iterate the research plan for the direct to consumer campaign and benchmark campaign concepts. Measure against industry standards and evaluate for competitiveness and breakthrough potential
  • Partner with the advanced analytics team to run campaign investment impact modeling through BASES / Vista research
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to stand up a campaign impact measurement and monitoring plan. Monitor and communicate the performance of the direct to consumer campaign after its launch
  • Synthesize outputs and translate them into actionable insights with a clear understanding

Qualifications


Required Skills

  • Minimum 5+ years of patient / customer research experience within a relevant industry like biotech, pharmaceutical, or a consulting firm supporting the healthcare industry
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong project management experience - managing projects end-to-end (Defining the business need, requesting proposals from vendors, advising on research sample, monitoring fielding, designing read out plans, synthesizing and communicating findings within the organization)
  • Experience working with a branded, consumer facing product
  • Strong communication skills - expertise in translating analyses and research results into actionable insights for business stakeholders across the organization (including senior leadership)

Preferred Skills

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years of extensive experience with patient / customer qualitative research strongly preferred
