Senior Manager, North America External Manufacturing Value Chain


YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Manager North America External Manufacturing Value Chain, are to:


  • Value Stream single point of contact for Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) and internal Bayer by being the CMO "Plant Manager";
  • Own, influence and resolve strategy/issues with key stakeholders to optimize overall performance;
  • Ensure constant communication to internal stakeholders on key business developments affecting primary goal of increasing Ontime in Full (OTIF), Case Fill Rate (CFR);
  • Drive change in the product supply External Manufacturing community across mindset, people and processes to enable synchronized vision;
  • Work together with relevant function leads, and agree on priorities across various initiatives, regions, and CMO sites to drive maximum value;
  • Lead change management activities and relevant communications with clear understanding of the full business impact;
  • Elevate business case and influence investment decisions for urgent opportunities needed to secure greater fulfillment to the company;
  • Plans, constructs, and leads the Bayer/CMO series of business meetings weekly, monthly, quarterly for business planning;
  • Write conceptual documents and proposals for sequencing of activities and tasks, considering resource constraints and Consumer Health Product Supply (CH PS) priorities;
  • Identify weakness/areas of improvement in specifically assigned CMO business model (e.g. Single supply sources, systems capabilities, service issues, lack of responsiveness);
  • Identify, elevate, and assist with acceleration of Procurement (PRO) Packaging Support;
  • Identify, elevate, and assist with acceleration of CMO Issue Penetration and Decision Making;
  • Ensure adequate supply for current business;
  • Drives Continuous Improvement initiatives;
  • Is lead contact for any new business evaluation with CMO;
  • Develop and maintain vendor intelligence (capabilities, capacity, benchmarking performance);
  • Issues and assists with issuing Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders as needed;
  • Assists with invoice reconciliation and resolution as needed;
  • Partner with Functional Leads, within PS, Information Technology (IT), and CMO sites to build culture and key skills required for success of and make sure the project management, change management and related communication are consistent and smoothly managed.

Required qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Science, or engineering or related;
  • Hands on experienced individual with a balance of technical, business, and leadership competencies;
  • Multi discipline experience in operations and a significant level of independent thought and an ability to challenge existing strategies, process, and execution elements;
  • Strong teamwork, leading cross functional teams/projects and influencing senior management experience;
  • Ability to develop formal and informal relationships to leverage existing teams and workflow and gain focus on new areas of emphasis;
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage change in the organization;
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage the entire business unit of external manufacturing to include R&D projects, operations, quality, and distribution;
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the US and Canada and other locations, as necessary.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • 12 years of experience in the various areas of operations, supply, demand, business planning, procurement, or strategy is preferred;
  • Significant experience to include process and managerial roles is desired;
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, intellectual curiosity and interpersonal skills are preferred;
  • The selected candidate is anticipated to be in the role x x years before considering a move to another product supply function to build a product supply end to end skill base.
