REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Master’s Degree in Human Services or related mental health field with 3 years of director-level oversight of an emergency shelter with homeless engagement experience which will include 2 years as a program manager/director
  • Must have experience with managing federal and county grants with prior administrative oversight of services to address the needs of the homeless population.
  • Experience with working with the homeless population required.
  • Must have excellent communication skills both written/oral along with great attention to detail relating to documentation, deadlines, and other deliverables
  • Valid Drivers’ License
  • Ability to drive an organization vehicle
  • ACT 33/34/73 clearances
  • Pre-Employment Drug Screen

WORK SCHEDULE: This is an Exempt (Salary) position.

Monday through Friday along with some non-traditional business hours may be required.

ABOUT OTHE ROLE

  • This position will lead all programs under the Emergency Shelter services continuum and homeless engagement center services. Programs include but are not limited to Second Avenue Commons Emergency Low-Barrier Shelter and Second Avenue Commons Engagement Center Services.
  • The position works closely with the Vice-President of Community & Wellness Services and Executive Leadership Team to maximize productivity, compliance, quality, financial performance and customer service.
  • Ability to function autonomously and assumes oversight responsibility for the department including staffing, business planning, and ongoing financial and operational analysis.
  • Responsible for finance, human resources, business planning and development, as well as person served and colleague satisfaction.
  • Implements and enforces Pittsburgh Mercy policies and procedures.
  • Establishes departmental policies and goals.
  • These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws, standards and regulations and Pittsburgh Mercy’s mission, philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.
