Job Summary
This role provides strategic consulting and analytical support for Associated Bank’s short and long term e xecutive incentive compensation plans, executive supplemental benefits, deferred compensation, and perquisite programs. Responsible for plan design, research, analysis of compensation and financial data, modeling, implementation of programs, and administration. Primary resource in the annual proxy process, including preparation of the CD&A and Compensation Tables. In collaboration with the Director of Total Rewards, develop materials for the Compensation and Benefits Committee of the Board of Directors, prepare recommendations for executive hires, and provide consultative subject matter expertise in the development of solutions that support the company’s strategic objectives and business needs. A ddition ally , the incumbent will support and work with the broader HR/Total Rewards team on a variety of initiatives and projects.

This position is hybrid-remote eligible in WI (Preferred) or MN.

Job Accountabilities

  • Leads e xecutive compensation strategic design, analysis , modeling, implementation, and administration. Audit, evaluate, and support the administration of executive compensation through analytics and research. Analyzes compensation programs for executives, officers and other top key positions, including short- and long-term incentive plans, financial and tax treatment of compensation program s.
  • Coordinates and provides information in support of Proxy filings, including the CD&A and Compensation Tables, requests to third parties for data, and responses from internal and external partners.
  • Develops and maintains models to track and forecast equity and stock-based compensation budgets, including impacts to equity dilution, burn rate, and other calculations in partnership with Finance and our external partners.
  • Drives end-to-end ownership of executive compensation initiatives through problem definition, quantitative and qualitative analysis, solution design, and execution.
  • Plans, executes, and leads other compensation projects in collaboration with the HR/Total Rewards team which may include various programs, initiatives, budgeting/forecasting exercises, policies, documentation, and guidelines.
  • Creates clear communication materials and presentations to educate and inform committee members, executive leadership, management, and colleagues that reinforce key features and potential value of the plan or offering. Interprets executive and non-executive programs as it relates to plan and/or program provisions
  • Participates in market benchmarking surveys, keeps informed of market trends, peer company pay practices, public company disclosure, and innovations in executive/direct compensation to keep plans and programs competitive.
  • Keeps abreast of legislative and regulatory changes to ensure that our plans remain in compliance with all administrative guidelines , audit requirements , and other obligations . Monitors Proxy Advisor policy changes related to say-on-pay and equity plan recommendations utilizing ISS, Glass Lewis, and other appropriate resources. Provides analysis of executive compliance with stock ownership guidelines.
  • Partners with cross-functional teams to support other HR initiatives, including M&A activity through due diligence, executive compensation assessments, and integration execution as needed.
  • May be responsible for the design and maintenance of databases central to ongoing tracking and analysis of key functions processes/programs.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Business Management, HR or Finance. Required
Experience
  • 4-6 years Compensation experience or professional role in HR or Finance. Required

Licenses and Certifications

  • CCP - Certified Compensation Professional by start date, Preferred
