About this Position:
We are the Product Team for the distinguished Honda Finance and Acura Finance websites, the customer service agent console and other digital tools. We are looking for a Senior Product Owner to join our team. You will drive responsibilities across the entire software development life cycle for projects (including extra-large projects) and production support. As our team bridges business and IT, we seek someone effective in leading cross functional teams. You will drive a team to prioritize / size of work and articulate / groom stories and acceptance criteria, partnering with UX/UI, Engineering, SOX, Compliance, Legal, business and IT operations, the Enterprise and vendors. You’ll partner with the change management team for Field training. You’ll work with the marketing team for communications to customers, call centers and dealers. You oversee, prepare and execute testing (user acceptance, interoperability, analytics tagging, accessibility, triage support of adjacent testing teams). You will support launch, warranty, knowledge transfer and reporting.

You effectively socialize with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

You are a fast learner who must absorb and become the established subject matter specialist on unique focus areas, particularly regarding payments batch, eligibility business rules, permutations for account conditions and personas, platform capabilities, business operational process and user experience. You’ll evolve with us with changing privacy, security and compliance best practices and the upcoming releases of vendors supporting our ecosystem.
About the Team:
Our rapidly growing digital product team is the Innovation and Digital DevOps (IDDO) unit. We are part of the Business Technology Solutions (BTS) Department within AHM Captive Finance IT (CF IT) Division. We serve American Honda Finance Corporation (AHFC), a world class captive finance organization which finances automobile, power sports, power equipment, jet and insurance offerings for American Honda Motor (AHM).
Work Model:
As the future of work evolves, so do we. We have a predominantly remote model. Team activities flex between hybrid and in-office (Torrance, CA). We seek a team member located in Southern California.
Work Education/Experience Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
- BA/BS degree
Minimum Business Experience:
- 6-10 years of product owner or relevant business analysis leadership experience
- [PREFER] 5 years of financial services or banking industry work experience
- [PREFER] Business operations experience (e.g. digital customer service support, business analysis, user story grooming and documentation, end user training)
- [PREFER] Experience as former or current AHFC customer
Technical Knowledge and Skills Required:
Minimum Certifications:
- Agile certification for Product Owner or Scrum Master (PREFER: SAFe Agile
- [PREFER] Salesforce certifications, such as Admin (else ability to gain certification in year 1); developer skills not required
Minimum Technology Experience:
- Agile methodology delivery experience; Certified Product Owner or Scrum Master [PREFER SAFe Agile]
- 5 years of Salesforce or CRM experience, web operations, UX/UI, digital devops delivery and production support.
- [PREFER] Salesforce certifications, such as Admin (else ability to gain certification in year 1); developer skills not required
- [PREFER] Working knowledge of Azure DevOps (ADO)
- [PREFER] Experience with Mobile and web services (Amazon Web Services, Azure)
Other Job-Specific Skills:
- Work with more senior product managers and more junior product owners / business analysts
- Ability to drive multiple initiatives simultaneously; Self-starter with track record of growing responsibilities; ability to manage up
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Describe complex ideas in simple ways. Exercise sound decision making skills to provide solutions for problems.
- Feature planning, backlog prioritization, user story grooming, process mapping, training, and communication
- Plan, oversee and execute testing workstreams (such as interoperability, ADA audit, user acceptance testing)
- Service orientation and excellent written / oral communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal / external, technical / business.
