CGS is seeking a Senior CPA and Accountant to join our team supporting the mission of a federal agency in Doral, Florida. This position will entail a wide range of duties including working with an auditing team to validate assertions related to systems, process flows, and documentation.


Specific Duties May Include:

  • Provide Department of Defense Financial Audit Readiness and Remediation (FARR) support by interpreting Federal and DoD-wide policies related to financial reporting, financial management, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and generally accepted government auditing standards (GAGAS).
  • Produce monthly reports and provide detail analyses on aged transactions, de-obligations, open commitments, Unmatched Transactions (UMTs) on all financial systems used.
  • Monitor trends, progress and propose corrective course of actions on a monthly basis for any aged transactions, de-obligations, and open commitments.
  • Test existing business processes, perform necessary updates, create narratives and flowcharts to identify how personnel perform a specific business process, the risks the process poses, and propose the controls required to mitigate the risks.
  • Perform analytical studies on highly complex problems using quantitative analysis techniques such as regression analysis, operations research, margin analysis, sensitivity analysis, discounting, simulation, mathematical modeling, and statistical inference to identify trends and deficiencies and propose course of actions to address the issue.
  • Provide senior leadership with information regarding fiscal, financial, and non-financial data.
  • Review, develop and coordinate recommendations to improve and strengthen controls over operations and programs, improve efficiency and effectiveness.


Experience & Qualifications:

  • Must possess and maintain a CPA license as a condition of employment
  • Bachelor’s Degree is necessary
  • Familiarity with GAAP and FASB Accounting Standards
  • Knowledge of internal control systems and basic transaction codes
  • Knowledge of ERP and SAP systems
  • Must be experienced with audits and supporting Financial Audit Readiness and Remediation efforts
  • Security clearance preferred but not required
  • US Citizenship/Permanent Residency required
