General Summary:
The Manager, Compensation designs, implements, and manages compensation programs for all locations based on assigned business client groups. Partners with the business client groups and provides guidance on compensation solutions for programs and projects that support HCA’s human capital. Ensures balance between organizational interests and competitive rewards for employees. Manages all market pricing activities to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness, while aligning with overall company strategy and compensation philosophy. Project lead role on various Total Reward initiatives related to compensation, benefits, retirement, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, and administer compensation programs, including salary administration, bonus programs, and job evaluation. Assist management with analysis and research to design, implement, and maintain compensation and performance management programs that ensures HCA’s competitive advantage in attracting, motivating and retaining talent.
- Review offers for promotions, transfers, external hires, etc., as requested by business leaders. Utilize internal data and external market benchmarks to provide fair and consistent recommendations.
- Partner with management to facilitate meetings with business unit clients for design, budget, communication, education, and implementation of bonus and commission plans as well as campaign programs. Ensures appropriate documentation for audit, risk management, and plan participant communication.
- Facilitate administration of annual bonus payouts and merit increases. Benchmark all jobs within HCA to determine market competitiveness for executives and broad-based employees. Conduct audits to ensure merit increases and bonuses align with performance rating and company policies.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understand and apply advanced concepts and techniques to develop solutions
- Utilize data to formulate trends and draw conclusions
- Effectively and concisely communicate complex data/concepts
- Able to work independently
- Advanced skills and experience with Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to compensation
- 7+ years of broad based or sales compensation experience
- Experience in executive compensation a plus
- Experience in financial services
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related discipline or combination of equivalent education and experience
- CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) preferred
Physical Requirements and Working Condition:
Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an office environment.
