Position Overview
The Senior Compensation Analyst performs a variety of professional, technical and analytical classification and compensation activities related to the maintenance of the company’s compensation program. Ensures the company offers pay plans that are competitive, fiscally viable, and in accordance with state and federal laws. The Senior Compensation Analyst assists with supporting and driving the efficient operations of the performance and compensation functions for the company and identifies opportunities for process improvements, provides analysis, and executes on strategies and programs.
Essential Job Functions
- Executes the analysis, design, implementation and maintenance of all compensation programs
- Assists with salary increase budgets and pay structure adjustments
- Provides compensation-related consultative services to management for all personnel actions, organizational structure design changes, job evaluations, and professional development programs
- Participates in salary surveys and remains informed of market and industry trends. Responsible for completing and maintaining job documentation
- Analyzes jobs through the job evaluation process to ensure internal equity of positions across job families and grade levels. Identifies internal comparisons; recommends grade and salary changes
- Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) classification as exempt or nonexempt
- Assists in the development and delivery of total rewards statements
- Processes bonus calculations and special pay requests
- Benchmarks positions against market and provides recommendations on salary offers and promotions
- Develops and presents compensation education to management and staff
- Develops and presents updates and recommendations for the executive compensation committee.
- Creates compensation review cost analyses for senior leadership
- Advises leadership on merit increase administration
- Complete compensation projects such as market adjustments, reorganizations, and large market research projects
- Audits, analyzes, and improves upon current compensation philosophy and pay practices
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field
- Typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience
- Previous HRIS experience (UKG Preferred)
- Previous Compensation Software experience (PayScale Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of:
- HRIS software
- U.S. laws and regulations, including Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Wage and Hour
In-depth knowledge of:
- Knowledge of compensation design, analytics and design frameworks
- Microsoft Excel
In-depth skill of:
- Collecting and analyzing complex data
In-depth ability to:
- communicate effectively in both oral and written form
