Compensation: $ 106,704-$133.380 annually
The compensation range reflects the Company’s reasonable expectation at the time of posting. We consider a number of factors when making individual compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, and other business needs. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program.
Position Summary:
The Senior Category Manager is a member of Martin Brower’s Category Management team primarily responsible for supporting strategic sourcing activities. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, able to function effectively under pressure and will have the ability to multi-task. Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism are required to be successful in this position.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Manage product assortment, profitability, and sourcing activities for assigned categories.
Develop Category sourcing strategies to identify the cost saving opportunities and implement cost reduction projects.
Provide subject matter expertise in specific product lines, product assortment, sourcing options, and market trends.
Assist Category Management Team with key vendor activities and ensure uninterrupted supply of products procured from global and domestic locations.
Forecast short and long-term volumes to suppliers by considering demand and inventory across locations.
Manage supplier relationships and conduct periodic business reviews with vendors to create new cost reduction opportunities.
Negotiate supply agreements to secure the highest quality goods and the right value based on market shifts, supply chain constraints, and product offerings.
Manage Supplier negotiations and communication of the Supplier Agreement to different entities involved in the Category Management program.
Develop business cases for major cost reduction projects by taking inputs from pricing, logistics and customer teams.
Create, analyze, and publish commodity report and tracks market changes to mitigate supply and price risks.
Serve as a primary point of contact between corporate Category Team in Rosemont, IL and Martin Brower’s satellite locations globally.
Develops communication around products and line of supply changes for various internal and external entities.
Other projects or duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor Degree with 6+ years of related experience and 3 years of supervisory experience.
4+ years of previous work experience managing suppliers for the Resin and/ or Paper based disposable categories in the Consumer Packaging, Food Service or Quick Service Restaurants industries.
Strong attention to detail with good business acumen.
High degree of organization along with the ability to manage multiple cross functional team projects with competing priorities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Travel – 10%
This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
3+ years of customer management experience in Category Management areas
Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, such as Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
Experience using JDE or any other ERP system and Reporting tools such as Power BI
Global sourcing experience preferred.
MBA preferred.
