Job description

Remote Senior Bookkeeper

Our team is revolutionizing the accounting industry, and finding exceptional people to solve challenging problems is a top priority as we execute this vision. We are looking for a Staff Accountant that is knowledgeable in QuickBooks Online (QuickBooks Desktop knowledge is helpful but not required), comfortable working one-on-one with clients, excited about making a real difference in their client’s businesses and is resourceful in problem solving.

We need you, a world-class bookkeeper!

This is a unique opportunity to work with our clients and shape their businesses on a daily basis. You’ll be empowered to own the client relationship, deepen your knowledge as a CFO, develop additional systems and templates for the team, all in order to give our clients the world-class service they expect. We are looking for someone who’s “results-oriented” and is always eager to get things done, but never at the cost of a thoughtful or strategic approach.

We are unique from most accounting firms in that our goal is not “just” compliance. Through our suite of CFO services we are truly partners and trusted advisors to our therapist and psychologist clients. Because we’re so specialized we are able to advise both on big picture vision as well as on a really granular level.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Client facing bookkeeping experience a MUST.
  • MUST HAVE experience in a public tax/accounting firm
  • Client-facing experience, comfortable managing your own clients
  • Tech savvy
  • Comfortable with preparing and presenting financial information to clients
  • Ability to draft tax returns independently
  • Ability to troubleshoot bookkeeping work, find errors and correct them
  • Ability to recognize when something doesn't look right and analytical skills to find/correct the issue
  • Ability to write clearly with proper grammar, comfortable explaining complex concepts in writing
  • Team player who is happy to jump in and help a colleague
  • Committed to researching, being resourceful, asking questions, and anything else to find the answer
  • Knowledgeable in QuickBooks Online

WHAT MAKES A GREENOAK ACCOUNTING TEAM MEMBER SPECIAL?

- We are firm innovators. We are always looking to make processes more efficient and to maximize our client’s experience with us.
- We make communication with our clients a top priority and stand by the work we do to help them better their businesses.
- We share our ideas with one another in order to grow our team stronger. We are dependable, open-minded, and flexible while meeting deadlines.

Some key things our team understands:

  • One of our core values is radical transparency. We will say exactly what we are thinking and expect you to do the same.
  • We expect you to take it in as constructive feedback, not personal
  • No such thing as “it’s not my job”
  • Need to be bought into our mission to push through the difficult parts of the position
  • You need to be able to jump in and get your hands dirty. And be willing to analyze at the detailed and high level to determine what is the big domino that if we fix it, it will knock down a majority of the issue.
  • You need to love helping people, thinking outside the box, going the extra mile.

As we are a start-up, excellent candidates will also:

  • Be willing to put in the time and effort to meet tight deadlines
  • Be flexible and willing to adapt to changing priorities
  • Be dependable, we use small highly-engaged teams so each person’s contribution is vital to the team’s success
  • Be open-minded when considering possible solutions to problems
  • Have a whatever-it-takes attitude to meet the needs of our customers
  • Be willing to share your ideas and experiences with others
  • Have the organizational skills and attention to detail required to manage your projects
  • Be able to work in a 100% remote team environment

We are actively engaged in building an inclusive, equitable, anti-racist accounting firm. We encourage you to apply if you share those values and want to work with a company with a diverse team and clients.
