Concern Housing is seeking a Senior AR Bookkeeper to be responsible for the client billing and collection process. This includes entering the client billing information and processing adjustments in the accounting system, sending client rent statements, making collection phone calls, generating collection letters and working with clients to reduce their AR balances. In an effort to reduce AR balances this position will also be responsible for monthly AR meetings with program directors and supervisors and analysis of client accounts to ensure accuracy. This position is also responsible for providing financial management services to program participants including representing and advocating for their interest with the Social Security Administration in all financial matters, paying bills and reducing arrears.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Record daily deposits in accounting system and reconcile clearing accounts
  • Maintain the tenant database in the accounting system and process all adjustments.
  • Generate and distribute monthly rent statements for all agency clients.
  • Monitor AR balances for accuracy and delinquency and conduct follow up phone calls and letters for non-payment.
  • Arrange to bring in clients for meetings when arrears are not being paid off. Prepare repayment agreements with clients to pay off their arrears.
  • Assist clients and case managers with detailed account histories when needed.
  • Conduct monthly AR meetings with program supervisors and directors to review client arrears. Prepare notes based on each meeting and distribute to all applicable staff.
  • Prepare worksheets for eviction proceedings at the request of the Director of Supported Housing and the Senior Associate Executive Director.
  • Complete monthly services provided to clients for quarterly OTDA report.
  • Research and resolve all bank reconciliation discrepancies.
  • Special projects as needed.
  • Remain current with all Agency required compliance documents and trainings.


Schedule: Monday - Friday; 9am - 5pm

Starting Salary- $50,000/annually



Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and a minimum of two years' experience, preferably in a non-profit organization with LIHTC experience.
