Summary

AMG Aluminum North America, LLC (AMG Al NA) is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our organization and support our Henderson, Kentucky and Wenatchee, Washington Plants. In this role, you will be an integral part of the Accounting team, with primary responsibilities for managing capital expenditures, lease accounting, filing Use and CAT tax, and managing cash flow related activities. You will also be engaged in period closing activities and other projects as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Comply with all AMG policies and procedures, including safety and environmental requirements as well as AMG’s Code of Business Conduct; lead by example for the AMG Aluminum team
  • Embrace and promote the AMG V culture in all day-to-day activities; foster and promote a positive, respectful work environment that is aligned with AMG’s values
  • Responsible for capital expenditure tracking, monthly project closures, fixed asset software management and reconciliation, and monthly capex reporting
  • Interface with engineering and operations teams to build capital and lease budgets and assist in capital project payback and lease or buy calculations
  • Responsible for lease accounting including initial asset and liability calculations and monthly journal entries
  • Prepare various government reports including filing Sales Tax, Use Tax, KwH Tax, CAT Tax, Census and survey reports
  • Prepare month-end journal entries and assist in monthly financial report preparation
  • Prepare various G/L account reconciliations and Intergroup reconciliations
  • Responsible for reconciliation of banking activity, processing of wire payments, and assisting with cash flow forecasting
  • Continuously improve related processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Support the Controller and Vice President of Finance with various projects and assignments as needed

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience; manufacturing industry experience a strong plus
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Proficiency with Oracle or similar accounting/ERP system
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Good follow through skills, as well as heightened attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt well to change
  • Ability to work flexible schedule at critical financial reporting times
