This position is for an electrical product safety compliance expert, specifically for the field of semiconductor and related manufacturing equipment. As a TUV SUD America Product Safety (Semiconductor) Compliance Engineer your responsibilities would include the review and assessment of varying types of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. As an Electrical Safety Engineer in the semiconductor industry, you will need to utilize your diverse technical background and strong hazard-based engineering principles to define and document and non-compliance or safety-related issues as they are discovered during an evaluation Additional roles and responsibilities may be assigned based on business need.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
:

  • Handling projects related to the evaluation of semiconductor and related manufacturing equipment, but might include projects for other equipment types and components
  • Carrying out evaluations, inspections, and tests according to internationally and nationally recognized standards, including but not limited to SEMI Guidelines, CE marking standards, and NFPA codes
  • Preparing and reviewing technical reports stating evaluation results, as well as issuing test certificates and conducting factory audits if included as part of a project
  • Working closely with others to quote and win projects, cross-sell services, support marketing activities, and build up a profitable and sustainable customer base
  • Providing clients with outstanding customer service and dealing with any complaints without delay
  • Reporting time and expenses, issuing invoices, and ensuring compliance with all internal company processes and procedures
  • Keeping up-to-date with standards, creating and revising test report formats and protocols, and taking part in industry-related activities

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong knowledge of electrical power and control circuits, as well as safety interlock systems
  • Understanding of hazardous chemistries, exhaust ventilation, radiation sources, mechanical design, fire protection systems, seismic protection calculations, classification of hazardous areas, and utility energy measurements a plus
  • Good knowledge of the English language, both verbal and written
  • Strong technical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Willing to travel frequently within the region, and internationally as needed
  • Good business judgment when making decisions, and always considers the relevance/impact of each decision on the business;

EDUCATION:

  • University degree in electrical engineering; certification and relevant industry experience as a professional engineer, chartered engineer, or safety assessor, may be considered in lieu of a formal college degree

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 3 years of work experience handling projects and carrying out safety evaluations and tests, on semiconductor or related manufacturing equipment, to SEMI S2, EU Machinery Directive, and other associated product safety standards.
  • Experience working for a third party product safety testing organization a plus.
