FSLA: Full-Time Professional/Non-Exempt
Responsible for driving truck or other vehicles within the area served by Secure Document Destruction Services to deliver and or pick up shredding bins as directed. Responsible for loading/unloading shipments as needed. Responsible for providing the highest level of customer service at all times. This position is responsible to and supervised by the Recycle Manager.
DUTIES:
1. Responsible for adhering to the highest possible level of customer service and professionalism at all times. Present friendly, cooperative attitude towards contract customers, donors and general public at all times.
2. Responsible for maintaining a highly professional appearance and demeanor by wearing specified uniform.
3. Responsible for inspecting vehicles prior to leaving grounds, filling out proper daily inspection forms and reporting all defects to the Recycle Manager.
4. Responsible for maintaining accurate records of service tickets, bin exchanges and customers on a daily basis.
5. Responsible for reporting all property damage immediately, completing written accident reports and proceeding as instructed by the Recycle Manager.
6. Responsible for loading and unloading goods and or bins.
7. Responsible for handling, loading and securing goods in a manner which protects both goods and employees.
8. Responsible for cooperatively working as a team with other workers.
9. Responsible for adhering to all state, local and agency driving rules and
regulations.
10. Responsible for returning truck, equipment and donated goods to the Secure Destruction Services facility at the end of daily shift.
11. Responsible for maintaining all issued documents in regards to pick up and
deliveries.
12. Responsible for ensuring that each truck is loaded properly with the correct number and type of bins required for the route.
13. Responsible for handling all other material functions as needed.
14. Responsible for conducting oneself in a safe manner and reporting all injuries immediately to the Recycle Manager.
15. Responsible for performing other duties as assigned by the Recycle Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the assigned tasks. Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age. Must possess a valid Virginia driver’s license and have a clean driving record. Must be able to complete federal and state backgrounds. Must be willing to work in a variety of job site locations. Must be willing to work various days/times.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Skill in communicating in spoken conversation-adequate volume speech.
2. Normal hearing required for conversation, telephone use, and emergency
information systems.
3. Visual acuity, depth perception, and field of vision within normal range.
4. Must be independently mobile on all surfaces and situations.
5. Must be able to move safely about work area.
6. Must be ambulatory on all surfaces and situations.
7. Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 300 lbs. an average of 15 times per day.
8. Must be able to stand at least 10 hours per day.
9. Must be able to carry up to 75 lbs. an average of 4 times per day.
10. Must have bilateral use of hands for repetitive single grasp and release tasks.
11. Must have bilateral use of hands for repetitive fine manipulation.
12. Must have bilateral use of foot/feet for repetitive movement as in operating foot controls.
13. Must be able to reach below shoulders.
14. Must be able to reach above shoulders.
15. Must have full active range of motion of all extremities.
16. Must be able to climb steps, ladder, and ramps frequently.
17. Must be able to bend/squat/twist/kneel frequently.
18. Must be able to turn head 180 degrees frequently.
19. Must be authorized for coverage under agency insurance if operating agency vehicle, have good driving record, valid Virginia driver’s license, and/or required level of personal auto insurance.
20. Must be able to perceive size, discrimination, temperature, shapes, and/or textures.
21. Must have the physical stamina to work at least 10 hours per day.
