Job Purpose

Provide safe, efficient and timely delivery of inventory, goods and materials between French Broad Chocolates multiple facilities (NC and GA.) Drivers are ambassadors of our company; they must have strong communication and interpersonal skills. They must be Dependable, Self Motivated and Trustworthy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/Load/Distribute inventory, such as, ingredients, materials, finished goods, and equipment
• Execute a daily pick up/delivery/ transfer schedule according to distribution center plan.
• Communicate and assist the various FBC groups to obtain the logistical support their respective department requires.
• Driving and loading/unloading vehicle including interstate travel across state lines.
• Fulfill internal and external deliveries, execute errands, bank runs and complete weekly inventory pushes to all retail locations (including Atlanta, GA)
• Verify accuracy of deliveries with receivers and obtain proper signatures
• Assist in restocking goods at retail locations
• Work effectively with multiple departments, and be able to juggle competing priorities
• Help with warehousing duties as needed

Qualifications

1+ years of experience in a similar role preferred

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to drive large vehicle (Box Truck)
• Comfortable driving long distances (NC to GA)
• Possession of, or willingness to acquire DOT Medical Card
• Forklift experience preferable
• Ability to work independently, stay on task and use time efficiently
• Accuracy and strong attention to detail
• Open-minded; thrives in an environment of change

Working Conditions

Position may require evenings and weekends as necessary. The work environment is primarily in transit between multiple business locations in the company provided van. There will be exposure to outdoor weather conditions. This job also operates in a warehouse and food production facility, where food and occupational safety is of the utmost importance. Noise, dust, machinery and varying climatic conditions may be present in this environment.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit while driving. The employee is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 50+ pounds. The courier role is physically demanding.
