Taconic Biosciences is seeking a Scientific Program Manager to join our dedicated Scientific Services team in this remote position. This position works primarily remote (90%) with ad hoc needs to visit our US sites. Qualified candidates will be based in the continental U.S. and be comfortable working Eastern standard hours.

- The Starting Pay: $80,000 based on experience. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

The Role:
The Scientific Program Manager will be responsible for representing the value of Taconic Colony Management Solutions to current and prospective customers and ensuring that both Taconic and the customer are best positioned for mutual success in new and existing breeding projects.
Duties of the Scientific Program Manager include the following:
- Provide creative solutions for customers that leverage Taconic’s extensive toolbox to deliver mutual value for both customers and Taconic through complete, compelling, and feasible technical and business solutions
- Develop collaborative customer relationships with lead scientists, directors, outsourcing managers, procurement officers, CEOs and other key decision makers and opinion leaders
- Articulate Taconic’s industry-leading capabilities and value in the space of scientific services for colony management
- Work as a Team with colleagues including account managers, project managers and other subject matter experts to:
- Increase our business with existing customer's
- Understand the market and develop strategic and tactical plans to partner with new customers
- Contribute to product management, development, and process refinement by working closely with our operations and marketing groups
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, animal science, genetics, or a related scientific field
- Doctorate preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or comparable certification a plus
- Minimum 4 years relevant experience and/or training
- Experience in principles and methodology or experimental science (preferable biology) and laboratory practice
- Experience in rodent genetics and/or breeding
- Experience in the development, execution and leading of specialized projects in a technical field
- Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization
- Ability to convey technical information, programmatic and marketing materials to audiences
Travel:
- Travel required, generally multiple trips each month, 6-12 trips per year (all travel pending internal COVID-19 guidelines)
Internet:
- This role requires reliable internet service, Taconic requires a minimum speed of 200 MPS to be obtained. A stipend of $25 per pay period is provided to aid in this request. Employees who cannot or will not get improved internet service are welcome to work at a Taconic office of their choice.
