Job Summary:

Support company safety mission through implementation of current, relevant, effective training curricula for delivery to drivers and maintenance/office staff.

Safety Trainer Duties

• 
  Evaluating new CDL A driver’s skills through pre-trip inspections, backing maneuvers & thorough road test.
• Shuttling drivers to and from our hotel, clinic, shop, yards, shopping centers, and other locations as needed.
• Act as the company liaison between the clinic and our driving partners awaiting service.
• Filling up semis/bus/vans with fuel.
• Performing pre-post trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and fitness for roads.
• Assisting with clerical needs for Orientation (stuffing welcome bags for new drivers, making copies, etc)
• Assist in the collection of confidential documents from drivers as needed
• Shuttling trucks to shop locations
• Test driving trucks returned from vendors after repairs are completed

Facilities Manager Duties

• 
  Grounds keeper – to include using a 4-wheeler & trailer to empty trash cans from around the terminal (outside), picking up debris/trash from around the terminal and depositing in dumpster. Picking up cigarette butts, litter and general upkeep of landscaping beds.
• Facilities maintenance – to include anything from light bulb replacement, plumbing trouble shooting, ceiling tile replacement, etc
• Supply runs to Sam’s Club, Walmart, etc for anything from copy paper to drinks to landscaping necessities. (IE: anything the terminal needs)
• Move trailers around the terminal yard or to local trash facility as needed for OS&D disposal situations

Requirements:

• Knowledge of FMCSA pre and post trip inspections
• Valid Class A CDL
• Valid Passenger Endorsement (Class B is OK)
• 1 Year of Verifiable Driving Experience
• Must be at least 23 years of Age
• Must meet FMCSA/DOT driver regulations
• Clean driving record

Education:

HS diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities:

• DOT Hours of Service (logging)
• Previous CDL A school instructor
• Previous CDL A trainer or mentor from a training motor carrier
• Smith System Driver Training familiarity

• Work outside in all seasons and nature of weather (rain, snow or shine)
