Join Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines as RN – Specialized Services – Orthopedic Surgery where you will perform patient assessments and care tasks, including emergency procedures and medication administration as appropriate.
Educate patients and document patient interactions.
Practice infection control and contribute to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care within own scope of practice.
You will work within the specialty of Lower Extremity Reconstruction, caring for patients in need of hip or knee replacements and orthopedic tumor care.
Aid in coordination of care with multi-disciplinary teams. Telephone triage of orthopedic emergent patients.
Preoperative assessment and updating of EMR for surgical patients. Administrative duties, to include working with SDI, peer to peer for authorizations and necessary documentation of patients’ disposition to employers or care managers.
Help with staff training in all our departments.
In this role, you will play an integral role in preoperative and postoperative teaching, instructions, and care.
You will perform wound care, wound vacs and support the smooth functioning of the clinical side of this Ortho Clinic.
This is a Full Time, 8-hr shift position located at Torrey Pines in La Jolla.
This position is eligible for New Hire and Relocation Incentives up to $7K

In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:
Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
Must remain in original department/specialty
Must remain in original Job Title
Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.
Experience/Specialized Skills:
Completion of accredited RN program.
One year RN experience.
Required Certification/Registration:
Current CA license.
Current American Heart Associate Healthcare Provider BLS.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
Minimum 1 year RN experience in an outpatient Ortho setting.
