JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision of the CNO and Regional Director, the Market ED Director will render professional nursing care and guidance to ED staff in accordance with physician’s treatment plans and standards of practice/care to provide for the comfort and well-being of patients. This position requires a sound knowledge of nursing practice and exceptional leadership abilities. This position ensures compliance with standards established by professional nursing organizations; national, state, and local regulatory agencies; and institutional policies and procedures. The Market ED Director is accountable for nursing practice that upholds high standards of integrity and ethical behavior.
The Market ED Director will cover/facilitate this role at our River Oaks & East Houston Hospital and Clinics Emergency Room. We seek a professional with proven but flexible strategies to allow for continued growth for the organization.
River Oaks Hospital and Clinics offers all primary care and specialty care services within the 8 floors of the high-rise hospital. From the multi-specialty clinics and 24-hour emergency room to surgery and diagnostic services. Full-service acute care with 24-hour emergency room, advanced diagnostic center, specialty clinics, intensive care unit and surgical suites.
East Houston Hospital and Clinics offers all primary care and specialty care services within the campus. From the multi- specialty clinics and 24-hour emergency room to occupational therapy, surgery and diagnostic service, this in-patient campus offers a 24-hour emergency room, advanced diagnostic center, multi-specialty clinics, 4 surgical suites and 2 special procedure rooms. 24/7 Occupational injury services and support and New state-of-the-art Breast Imaging Center. The friendly, bilingual staff ensures ease of process from check in to invoicing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Market ED Director is responsible for overseeing and developing the Emergency Room, through key tasks such as hiring, evaluating, mentoring, scheduling, and supervision.
- Will be able to solve problems quickly and effectively using excellent critical thinking skills with emotional intelligence to deal with staff at all levels within the organization.
- Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to the hospital mission, having Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team.
- Will develop and plan strategies to manage ED growth and ensure hospital sustainability.
- Candidate should be able to understand and demonstrate the ability to generate revenues for ED and clinical services, as well as have experience in client billings, knowledge and adherence to regulations such as AAAHC, CMS standards of care, fiscal budgets and performance improvement.
- Coordinate with Patient Care staff, CNO and Regional Director to ensure that clinical and administrative functions are in place to adequately document and collect patient service revenue.
- Need to possess great organizational and program development skills, as well as intermediate experience in basic computer software Microsoft Office suite, Outlook Teams
- Create a culture of efficiency and excellence that increases patient cycle time and reduces ED wait periods.
- Collaborate with Patient Care staff to ensure optimal patient experiences throughout River Oaks and East Houston Hospital. Emergency centers.
- Collaborate with leadership team to implement communication and marketing strategic plans.
- Ensure that corporate marketing standards are maintained throughout the Emergency Room at both locations and proper branding control of promotional materials.
- Ensures that target patient volumes for each facility is met and develops corrective action plans as necessary to increase patient volumes.
- Experience in managing multi-locations simultaneously.
- Work with the CNO and board of Regional Director to lead and manage Emergency and service expansion, enhancement, and development plans.
- Evaluate the results of overall Emergency Room operations regularly and systematically and report these results through internal Dashboard reports and other industry standard metrics. Develop Key metrics to measure each facility’s performance.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Bilingual (good to have)
- Ability to influence organizational change and efficiency as necessary to facilitate strategic initiatives and planned growth.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in managing multi-locations simultaneously.
- BSN, Master’s Degree preferred
- Current Texas RN License
- 5 YRS Emergency Services RN Experience
- 3-5 Years’ experience that includes Trauma or Emergency Care and a Leadership Role
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) 90 days after Date of Hire
- BLS, ACLS required. Current BLS at time of hire; ACLS at time of hire or within thirty (30) days of hire.
- PALS certification within 30 days of hire is required for Emergency Department RN
EDUCATION
- BSN, Master’s Degree preferred
CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE
- Current Texas RN License
- 3-5 Years’ experience that includes Trauma or Emergency Care and a Leadership Role
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) 90 days after Date of Hire
- BLS, ACLS required. Current BLS at time of hire; ACLS at time of hire or within thirty (30) days of hire.
- PALS certification within 30 days of hire is required for Emergency Department RN
