We are looking for a RN House Supervisor to join our team! 2 Night positions available.
Roundup Memorial Healthcare, a Billings Clinic affiliate organization, is a rural integrated health care organization. This integrated facility brings together a physician clinic and 25-bed critical access hospital services to deliver quality coordinated care that is convenient for our patients. Our board-certified family practice physicians and professional staff provide quality care for the entire family. Services offered include medical, swing beds, hospice, physician clinic; emergency department, radiology and laboratory services, and physical therapy.
Position requires MT license and BLS, ACLS, ENPC, PALS, and TNCC certifications.
This position will care for both floor patients and the ER.
This position may be eligible for up to a $15,000 sign on bonus.
Duties:
Supports and models behaviors consistent with RMH’s organizational mission, vision, values, strategic goals, business strategies, code of business conduct, and service expectations. Responsible for adherence to the elements of RMH’s Code of Business Conduct and corporate compliance program. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Treats all patients/residents, families, and co-workers as welcomed guests; makes eye contact while communicating with or encountering guests, expresses a positive attitude (e.g., by smiling), greets all customers and co-workers, and introduces self as appropriate.
Utilizing a holistic approach and evidence-based nursing practices, incorporates the nursing process into the plan of care for the patient/resident. Plan of care should include biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, and discharge planning. Plans, organizes, implements, evaluates and documents safe therapeutic patient/resident care consistent with RMH values/goals and RMH departmental policies and procedures.
a) Gathers subjective and objective data through the performance of a nursing history and physical assessment as well as the gathering of information from the chart and other members of the health care team.
b) Analyzes the data and identifies actual/potential problems. Establishes priorities from the problem list, which will direct patient/resident care.
PATIENT CARE DUTIES:
Accountable for supervising quality care rendered in the department on assigned shifts.
Supervises all activities related to patient care.
Monitors unit activities to verify that patient’s needs are met, and thorough, appropriate care is being rendered.
Investigates patient concerns that cannot be resolved by the staff nurse.
Determines the need for calling in additional staff members, based on house census and patient need.
Acts as liaison between physician and patient care team.
Is clinically competent in routine care and emergencies and is able and willing to assist in any area. Will share evenly in the workload and the provision of patient care.
Manages the nursing staff in the Acute Care/ED/Nursing Home on assigned shift.
Acts as a leader, role model, and innovator.
Directs and disciplines teammates as indicated.
Fosters and edifying environment focused on educational opportunities for staff and patients, with and emphasis on evidence-based practice and optimal patient outcomes.
Promotes team building using effective interpersonal skills.
Informs oncoming supervisor of patient conditions and hospital services rendered during shift, and other pertinent information.
Activates the chain of command when necessary.
Makes the decision to call in other departments and utilizes the Emergency Operations Plan and processes to trigger the Hospital Incident Command team.
Communicates problems/concerns of staff, patients, families, providers to Staff Nurses and Director of Nursing.
Completes various patient clinical records and forms including the care plans, daily patients charting, medication administration, requests for diagnostics, and request for pharmaceutical items.
Completes required documentation in a timely manner in accordance with regulatory and policy requirements.
Interprets facility policy/procedures.
Ensures judicious utilization of resources to contain costs.
Performs safety and infection control procedures to insure a safe and clean environment for the patients and staff. This includes understanding and following RMH procedures, relating to wandering residents, fire, bomb threats, tornado, evacuation and universal precautions, and infection control procedures.
The House Supervisor must encourage patient independence and optimal functional ability while contributing to a safe, pleasant, healthy and positive environment for the patients.
Works with Director of Nursing to maintain staffing within prescribed hours of care and assists in managing the Nursing Department.
Promotes inter-departmental co-operation by focusing on satisfaction of internal customers as well as external customers.
Provides services of other departments in their absence, as able.
