Larsen Marine TS LLC is a full-service marine center looking for motivated people to join our team of the best marine professionals serving both power and sailboat enthusiasts on the Great Lakes. Larsen Marine is one of the largest yacht service and storage facilities on the Great Lakes, storing and servicing more than 1,000 boats annually and providing service from our 75-slip basin and from harbors between Milwaukee and Chicago.
We are looking for a Sailboat Rigger. If you have a great attitude and enjoy variety in what you do day-to-day, as well as an aptitude for working with sailboats masts and rigging along with other sailboat components, we might be a great fit for you to learn and grow.
Duties & Responsibilities for a Sailboat Rigger Include:
1. Step and unstep masts
2. Tune standing rigging
3. Rig sailboats masts and run rigging including installing hardware
4. Connect and troubleshoot mast lights and wiring
5. Install booms and sails
6. Service winches and furling systems both manual and electrical
7. Service lifelines, lifeline gates, and deck hardware
8. Perform minor carpentry and painting on an as-needed basis
9. Operate sailboats, lift trucks, hydraulic trailers, travel lift hoist, mast crane, and work boat
10. Make up to specification new rigging
11. Move and launch boats, deliver boats port to port, check and safely secure boats moored at our docks
12. Perform other duties as assigned or apparent
Qualifications for a Sailboat Rigger Include:
· Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitude
· High school diploma required
· Experience in the performance of jobs related to maintenance and repair
· Rigging skills essential for the job
· Ability to read and understand maintenance manuals
· Must provide his/her personal tools essential for the job
· Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job, including good mobility and lifting ability
· Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
· Valid drivers license with safe driving record
· Must be able to complete assigned work in an efficient and timely manner
· Strong work ethic and personal commitment
· Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and company goals
· Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
· Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work
