Position Overview: Support Residential Department in all facets of Community Living Program through supervision of house managers and direct support professionals. Working with staff to increase individuals’ adaptive behavior skills for working and living in the community to maximize their ability to make informed choices and fully participate in their daily living activities and the communities.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain communications between the main office, houses, outside contacts and day programs regarding all aspects of policy and people supported affairs
- Complete weekly house checks, including review of medication boxes, MAR’s and other relevant paperwork including monthly Awake Overnight checks and weekend visits
- Complete performance evaluations
- Act as a liaison between insurance companies, pharmacy, consulting nurse and physician’s offices when necessary
- Assist in keeping residential, office and people supported updated, along with Case
Manager and in compliance with all regulations
- Coordinate monthly House Manager meetings and attend house staff meetings.
Administrative meetings and quarterly Residential Departmental meetings
- Gather and compile materials needed for Licensing and other agency related reviews
- Review and submit payroll
- Conduct assigned trainings in the homes as needed
- Maintain cell phone contact 24 hours a day
- Keep Division Director up to date on any health and safety concerns
- Be a liaison between Day, Residential and other agencies providing services
- Maintain routine contact with people supported significant family members or legal guardians
- Review all incoming information concerning individuals, significant information and obtains necessary services and/or financial aid
- Act as an advocate and assists people supported in making informed choices that will lead to a fuller and improved quality of life and treat consumers, their families and advocates with dignity and respect at all times
- Track vacancies and leave of absence
- Position may require some evening and weekend work. Hours may vary.

- Complete all state and agency required documentation in accordance with stated guidelines and deadlines.
- Maintains positive, professional working relationships
- Obtain and maintain Medication Administration Certification through the Maryland Board of
Nursing.
- Administer and document medications pursuant to State and Agency requirements. All medication is completed through an eMAR. Medication administration follows the DDA nursing delegation model.
- Complete all required and assigned trainings. CPR / First Aid, Mandt Systems, medication technician certification must be refreshed within timelines and certification must have current status.
- Attend and actively participate in all scheduled meetings.
- Check, and respond to emails daily to maintain proper communication
- Staff will be required to utilize agency electronic systems for communication, time and attendance, progress notes, incident report filing, etc.
- Treat everyone with dignity and respect at all times, the DSP must provide opportunities for the supported person to engage in decision making, and daily planning.
- All other duties assigned by Director of Day Services and Assistant Director of Day Services
Education:
A bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Psychology, Special Education, Human Services or related field preferred
Training and Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience working with adults with Intellectual and Developmental
Disabilities. Preferred DDA core competencies, Mandt Systems Training, CPR / First Aid,
MTTP
Physical Requirements:
Person must be able to walk, stand, and sit for up to 8 hours. Person must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. or more based on assigned supported person (using health and safety lifting / turning techniques or assistive devices).
Person must be able to successfully demonstrate all Mandt Systems training physical interventions and techniques, to include assisting supported person to standing, providing assistance with ambulation, physical releases, and physical restraints.
