RESERVATIONIST Job Description Summary: LOCAL APPLICANTS ONLY -- UP TO 45 MINUTES FROM SAVANNAH

This person is responsible for responding to guest calls or inquiries about vacation rental reservations, to provide information and reserve properties for guests coming to Savannah and Tybee Island. The Reservations Agent will continue the arrival experience by ensuring clear communication with guests, obtaining all necessary information and providing the guest a property that meets their expectations. Agents will be well versed in promotions, events, pricing, and sales strategy to meet the guest’s request.

Job Description

General Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming calls and assist with reservations, confirmations, maintenance requests, and questions.
  • Sell, process and enter and confirm room reservations using selling techniques and strategies.
  • Maintain knowledge of current Savannah and Tybee events, activities, hours of operation as well as dining options currently available.
  • Provide guests with appropriate property information, directions to the properties, while up-selling when appropriate.
  • Assist guests with issues and complaints, with empathy and a focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Use supervisor support when necessary.
  • Post charges to guest accounts as designated.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience:

Previous vacation rental guest service and reservations experience is a must.

Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

Positive interpersonal skills required.

Excellent computer and typing skills are required.

Previous call-center experience preferred.

Excellent listening and comprehension skills required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent, plus one year front desk/guest service experience. Some college preferred. Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred.

  • Frequently standing up behind the desk and front office areas
  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50lbs
  • Handling objects, products and computer equipment
  • Use a keyboard to operate various property management and reservations systems, etc.
  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests and employees.
  • Reading and writing abilities are utilized often.
  • Basic math skills are used frequently
  • Problem solving, reasoning, motivating and training abilities are often used.
  • May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or Holidays.
