Position: Research & Development Technician
Location: Des Plaines, IL 60017
Duration: 12 months contract
Shift: Rotating shift, 2 weeks on days and then 2 weeks on nights
Pay Rate: $
22.00/hr

Pre-Employment Requirements:
Must pass a criminal background check (7-year felony + sex offender)
Must pass a pre-employment drug test (10 panels for recreational drugs and opiates)
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S
Job Description:
Clear concise verbal and written communications within the Pilot Plant Testing Operation’s Department; face to face, log, and e-mail.
HS&E Excellence – Displays ownership of safety for self, fellow employees, and the environment.
Works well in a Team environment.
Follows through on commitments and builds trust among others.
Operate, monitor, and take readings on a group of pilot plants, as well as make adjustments and take corrective actions to keep the plants on specifications during routine operations.
Shift Technicians operate pilot plants while working a 12-hour shift rotating through the day and night shifts, and are eligible for shift premiums and scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
Basic Candidate Qualifications:
- High School Graduate.
- Possess good mechanical aptitude, math & basic computer skills including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Must be willing to work a rotating shift, and get one’s hands dirty.
- Must be willing to use personal protective equipment.
Additional Candidate Qualifications:
- Candidates should be detail-oriented, have good communication skills, and be able to follow written and oral instructions to accomplish multiple tasks safely.
Special Considerations:
- Lifting is generally at or below 30Lbs. without significant repetitions.
- Moderate exposure to machinery, chemical, biological, and physical risks is anticipated.
- Operation of a Powered industrial truck is considered at least Industrial and may be considered Heavy as determined by other exposures.
