Position Summary: A postdoctoral research position in chemical biology; conducting independent research in the development of subcellular imaging reporters (includes design, synthesis, and characterization of chloride reporters) and cell pathway study. Includes conducting experimental research, recording and analyzing data and producing reports and articles based on experimental results and observations; assisting the PI in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in the research lab.
General Purpose: Experimental research that supports the goals and fulfills the requirements of an NIH supported research grant in the area of chemical biology
Remote Work Days- This is a full time on Campus position with zero remote workdays.
Position Responsibilities:
- Conduct research experiments in the field of Chemical Biology
- Collect and analyze experimental data, documenting results and observations
- Draft manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication
- Draft periodic sponsor required reports on research and contracted goals
- Assist PI to mentor graduate and undergraduate students in the research lab

Essential Skills:
- Ability to initiate tasks and work well independently
- Ability to engage in collaborative team work
- Data management: expertise in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data from common analytical techniques such as UV-Vis, NMR, imaging, RT-PCR, western blot
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); Strong writing and editorial skills: ability to independently handle the preparation of sponsor reports and research manuscripts
Education:
Minimal Qualifications: Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemistry or closely related field
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemistry or closely related field combined with strong publication record
Experience:
Minimal Experience: Significant experimental experience with organic synthesis, fluorescence imaging, cell culture, western blot, RT-PCR, etc. is preferred, though all disciplines are welcome.
