Position Description

Harvard Medical School seeks a highly motivated individual to support research that uses mouse perturbation technology for conducting forward genetic screens for the discovery of novel immunotherapy targets for cancer. This individual will perform a wide range of laboratory research procedures and conduct a variety of complex support tasks for this project including generation and validation of bone marrow chimeric mice, creating subcutaneous tumor models, and maintaining transgenic mouse strains. This individual will perform a variety of laboratory techniques (including isolation of bone marrow stem cells and T cells, lentiviral transduction, multiparameter flow cytometry, and molecular approaches such as cloning, CRISPR, DNA isolation) independently, reporting results to a supervisor or other lab personnel.

Basic Qualifications

College background and at least 1 year of laboratory experience including cell culture techniques required.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques and animals preferred.
  • Ability to maintain careful records of experiments; detailed oriented; meticulous work habits; possess strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills; demonstrates experience with multi-tasking and troubleshooting.
  • Has the ability to work independently as well as part of a team; demonstrates initiative and is invested in the success of research projects.

Additional Information

This is a two-year term position from the date of hire, with the possibility of extension, contingent upon work performance and continued funding to support the position.

Offer contingent upon successful completion of a pre-placement medical evaluation.

This is an in-person position based on our campus in Boston.
