The Repair Technician position is involved with the maintenance and service of casino-style wagering product lines driven by historical horse-racing data. This role delivers high-quality and timely solutions and services in meeting customer and business needs. The Repair Technician position is a key contributor in maintaining and servicing gaming industry terminals to ensure players enjoy their experience.
BASE WORK LOCATION: The positions is based onsite in our Hunt Valley, MD office. In addition, travel is required to various locations throughout the U.S. approximately every 2 weeks.
WORK SCHEDULE: Varies dependent upon location such as Kentucky, Oregon, Wyoming, Alabama, and any future locations not limited to California, Nebraska, Virginia, New Hampshire, Idaho. Must be able to work a variety of hours, holidays and weekends.
Travel: Requires extensive travel - throughout the US and may be international. Passport will be required. Must be able to leave on short notice. Travel may be for weeks at a time. Example as follows to travel once or twice a month: Wyoming could be but not limited to a week at a time, Kentucky and Alabama could be but not limited to two to three days currently – subject to change according to schedule.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Troubleshoots and repairs terminals and peripheral equipment including but not limited to: complete terminals, printers, readers, bill acceptors, power supplies, ATX’s, hard drives, SATA cables, various PC and CPU boards, keyboards, various displays, touch screens, monitors, flat screens, wireless equipment, desktop computers, laptops and TNI’s (Terminal Network Interfaces).
- Provides constructive interaction with the company’s customers and internal team members while performing duties in a high-pressure environment geared toward all aspects of the company’s service operations including adhering to schedules and meeting deadlines.
- Utilizes hand and power tools, including AC and DC equipment such as AMP and Volt meters.
- Assists with other departments including but not limited to: CAC, OSC, Engineering, Product and QA to test new software features and processes.
- Assembles, configures and tests new or replacement hardware.
- Travels to tracks and resolves field equipment issues.
- Requires extensive travel - throughout the US and may be international. Passport will be required. Must be able to leave on short notice. Travel may be for weeks at a time.Assists with opening, closing and moving equipment from one track location to another track location.
- Trouble shoots issues via telephone occasionally.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Associate’s degree in a Computer or Electronics related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working as an Electronics Repair Technician.
- Proficient ability to reach and analyze schematics.
- Exceptional understanding of basic electrical principles and circuitry
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, Outlook Express), DOS, Windows 97 – 10.
- Strong understanding of basic safety practices and ability to notify applicable individuals of proper safety practices and safety violations
- Demonstrates driven-nature, self-motivation and commitment
- Excellent skills in troubleshooting during challenging situations.
- Demonstrates and maintains flexibility and adapts to changes within industry and company.
- Excellent interaction skills and the strong ability to partner effectively within dynamic teams.
- Proficient communication skills including the ability to expect technical concepts and ideas to technical and non-technical individuals

- Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, credit card and passport. Ability to book flights, hotel rooms, and rental vehicles.
- Physical ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work a variety of hours, holidays and weekends.
Preferred Experience and/or Education: Knowledgeable in technology; Knowledge of horse racing industry a plus; Individual must be open to learn about and understand ‘niche’ industry.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Requires travel up to 30%, including travel outside of the local area.
- Must be able to rent a car via a rental agency as needed for travel.
- Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a competitive base salary, bonus opportunity and benefits.
