Renovation Technician Job Description:
**THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES ARE NOT ALL OR LIMITED TO THE
DUTIES REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION.**
- Carpentry – Repairing cabinets, installing new cabinets, installing countertops, repairing, or installing interior doors, etc.
- Electrical – Inspect and replace electrical switches, outlets, cover plates, light fixtures, etc.
- Plumbing – Inspect all plumbing hardware and fixtures and repair/replace them as required.
- Appliances – Repair or install new appliances.
- Tile Work – Inspects all backsplash and shower surround tile and repair/replace as needed.
- HVAC – Inspect the HVAC system, change the filter, install new thermostats
(programs if necessary), and clean the system accordingly.
- Painting – Assists with painting duties when requested. Deliver paint to units, repair holes in walls, and paint as necessary.
- Cleaning – Clean each unit after all work is complete.
**ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: **
- All work performed will be done professionally. High-quality work practices, neatness, follow-up, and clean-up are a must.
- Communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ensures compliance with all safety regulations, including, but not limited to, using a back brace, safety goggles, and gloves as appropriate while renovating units.
- Assist with inspection of vacant units and inventory work to be performed adhering to the renovation process.
- Maintained constant communication with management, providing daily project updates.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the Director of Renovations or Lead of
Renovations.
- Reports supply needs to the Director of Renovations or Lead of Renovations.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and carry up to
100 lbs. utilizing proper safety equipment.
- Ability to push and pull appliance dolly up to 200 lbs. and move objects from one floor to another.
- Ability to bend/stoop, climb stairs, kneel, balance, reach above shoulder height, walk, and twist, have reliable vision, hearing, and speech.
- Must own and operate essential hand tools efficiently and safely.
- Must maintain all tools, equipment, and supplies in a clean working condition at all times.
- Must be able to use extension ladders and step ladders to reach work areas, if applicable, safely.
- Must be able to operate and understand the readings obtained with voltage meters, amp probes, ohmmeters, and other test equipment if necessary.
- Must be reliable and arrive on time, ready to work as scheduled.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
