Job Description :
- Process multi-state payroll activities related to new hires, terminations, status changes, tax changes, deductions, direct deposits, time sheet data, rate changes, and retroactive adjustments.
- Review, respond and forward tax agency inquiries and/or updates.
- Review, respond and set up garnishments as applicable.
- Review and verify timecard entries in the Time and Attendance System (including obtaining 100% approval of timecards from employees and their managers).
- Interface with employees to answer questions and provide assistance and guidance on payroll related issues.
- Evaluate current processes and make recommendations for ways to streamline work processes and build efficiencies that allow for scaling of payroll services.
- Assist with related special projects.
- Partnering with internal customers spanning all departments.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
- 4-6 years of experience with payroll processing or accounting functions (GL preferred).
- Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Word and Excel) required; experience with Ceridian/Dayforce is highly desirable.
- Skills: analytical, auditing, report writing, detail orientation, collaboration, customer service, process improvement, multi-tasking in a high-volume, fast-paced and collaborative environment, and adapting to changing work environments.
- Experience with 5000 employees payroll a major plus.
- Canadian payroll experience a plus.
- Heavy non-exempt experience and special pays experience is a plus.
- Ability to craft written communications for all organizational levels.
- Able to maintain the highest level of integrity and confidentiality.
