Job Description: Rehab RN
Location: 250 Pond St, Braintree, MA 02184
Shift/Hours:
- Full time, 12-hour shifts, 36 hrs/wk
- Day Shift: 7:00am-7:00pm
- Night Shift: 7:00pm-7:00am
Weekend Requirement:
- Saturday – Sunday, Every 3rdweekend.
Pay Range:
- Pay starts at $38.00 per hour for new graduates and goes up based on experience.
On-Call Requirement: None
Responsibilities:
At Encompass, the RNs are helping patients who are well enough not to be in an acute care hospital but still need a little bit of help before they are discharged. Encompass can keep RNs clinical skills sharp while giving them an environment that encourages relationship building with patients. RNs will see the same patients from admittance to discharge.
- Provide comprehensive inpatient medical and rehabilitative care for orthopedic, neurologic, multi-trauma, brain injury, stroke, pulmonary and cardiac rehabilitation to patients who have just experienced a significant medical event.
- Depending on diagnosis, RNs could work with telemetry, PICC Lines, Wound Vacs, Portacaths, chest tubes, heart failure management, critical illness myopathy management, post-ventilated COVID recovery management, occasional post-transplant recovery (liver/kidney), ER off-loading, LVADS, and pharmacy integrated med-dispense and more.
- Work with stable, but still acute medically complex patients.
- Provide more aggressive care and therapy than many “Sub-acute units” found in long term care/SNF facilities.
- Average stay is 1-3 weeks.
- Approximately 80% of patients are discharged directly home.
Must Haves:
- License: MA state RN license
- Experience:1 year RN experience in either acute care, sub-acute care, or a skilled nursing facility working in the Rehab unit.
- Certification: BLS is required prior to starting.
- Education: ASN.
About the Unit:
- Number of Beds: 179
- Patient Population: Post-acute inpatient rehabilitation.
- Nurse to Patient Population: 1:4-5 without support. 1:7-8 with CNA assistance.
