Alaris Health at The Chateau – North & South Pavilio, a 251 bed-skilled nursing Center in Rochelle Park, New Jersey, seeks a rehabilitation nurse to assume some responsibilities of the nursing department as delegated. Additional responsibilities include:

• conferring with the director of nursing to assess the quality of nursing care being delivered and make improvements/changes
• assisting with the development, direction, participation and evaluation of the orientation program for nursing personnel in the absence of the director of staff development
• completing and overseeing daily rounds to evaluate residents’ care and employees’ progress monitor nursing practices and assist personnel with nursing and educational needs
• performing rehabilitation assessments upon all new admissions and existing residents as requested
• liaising with all therapists (physical, occupational and speech)
• ensuring that each resident’s individualized care plan is followed and above all, that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current RN licensure by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing
• Minimum of three years of full-time or equivalent clinical experience
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience in a rehabilitation and/or care management setting
• Certified in rehabilitation nursing by the A.N.A. is preferred
• Considerable knowledge of medications, their proper dosage and expected results
• Ability to positively interact with everyone from residents to government agencies and the general public
• Maintain empathy toward residents and build rapports
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions that may be technical in nature
• Ability to recognize and identify symptoms and to make decisions quickly in emergencies
