Summary: As a Compliance Specialist, you will represent Petro-Hunt Permian in regulatory dealings and act as a liaison with federal and state agencies. This role is responsible for interpreting regulations, accurately reporting to federal and state agencies, and working with company personnel at all levels of management.
Responsibilities:
- Handle filings to State organizations (Rail Road Commission)
- Organize and maintain technical files related to the permitting functions of the Regulatory Group
- Develop business relationships with professionals at regulatory agencies to ensure knowledge of the rules and compliance
- Participate in agency consultations, project meetings, and client communications
- Attend weekly Permian regulatory meetings
- Conduct the Operator Led Response Plan for seismic activity
- Oversee seismic monitoring in the field
- Ensure quality of work without supervision
- Must be able to communicate clearly, influence other departments, and discuss issues that may arise
- Review documentation submitted by third parties and have the ability to correct and review information independently
- Review as drilled plats provided by survey company
- File drilling permits
- Working with multiple disciplines to assure accuracy before permitting
- Ability to comprehend complex permitting issues
- P-16s, P-12s, SWR 37s, 38s, and 40s
- Responsible for filing UIC permits – collecting and reviewing all data before the application is submitted
- Responsible for ensuring all facilities and gathering pipelines are in compliance with regulatory requirements (TCEQ, TRRC, EPA)
- Overall comprehension of how daily operations run from staking a well through plugging a wellbore
- Prepare reports for the Mandatory Reporting Rule for Greenhouse Gases
- Assist with the development of LDAR Monitoring Plans and schedules
- Enforce Company Safety Policy
- Work with third party for items related to air permitting, SPCC, OOOOa, and GHG Plans for the field
- Spill clean-up and mitigation oversight
- TIER II reporting/oversight
- Reclamation oversight
- Prepare and submit T4 permits and SWR106/SWR36 applications when applicable
- Understand and technically review Permit-By-Rule, Standard Permits and Title V permit applications Ensure operational compliance with permits and maintain permits throughout the facility modifications
- Oversee and coordinate JJJJ compressor stack testing with compressor rental companies and testing companies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of oil and gas related experience or demonstrated knowledge of the industry
- Minimum of 5 years regulatory and compliance experience
Working Conditions:

- Occasional visits to industrial settings that may include hazardous materials and the requirements to wear personal protective equipment.
