RN specialist pre/post is the person accountable for managing the care of the pediatric and adult patient requiring a surgical procedure that requires moderate to complex assessments, interventions and levels of nursing vigilance and critical thinking techniques. This RN works with supervisory team, staff, and physicians to develop, implement, and deliver specialized nursing care to patients in accordance with recognized standards of operating room care as defined by the California State Board of Nursing, AORN and Sansum Clinic which will ensure the quality of care to the patients.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Graduate from a nursing program required.
• Must have a valid license in the State of California as a Registered Nurse. Extra certifications pertaining to the field of specialty preferable but not required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or dually certified in both AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support and AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support at time of hire is required and non negotiable.
• Current CPR certification at time of hire is required. In addition to CPR, ACLS is required at time of hire in the following areas, Cardiology, GI Lab, Urgent Care and Outpatient Surgery (OPS). In addition to CPR PALS will be required in Pediatrics and Urgent Care.
• Computer literacy required

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 years operating room experience necessary.
• New graduates are welcome, however, a minimum of one (1) or two (2) years recent acute care or ambulatory care experience as an RN is preferred or experience in specific specialty.
