In partnership with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, CHA has expanded inpatient psychiatric care in the region, by adding 42 new child, adolescent and neurodevelopmental beds at its Somerville Campus. The new CHA Center for Inpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Somerville will provide a transformative continuum of patient and family-centered care for diverse youth with mental health needs.
The 6 East / West Child Psychiatry Unit, is a 24 bed secure psychiatric unit providing care for children between the ages of 3 and 12. The unit is located at our CHA Somerville Campus. A multi-disciplinary approach is used to provide patient and family centered care. A continued emphasis on restraint reduction is ongoing and treatment focus is on assessment, stabilization, and after care treatment planning.
Qualifications and Experience:
Current Massachusetts RN license required
American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required
BSN or ASN degree required
1-2 years acute inpatient psychiatric experience preferred.
In addition, newly hired candidates are required to successfully complete a job specific physical agility test
