Required Qualifications
Minimum requirements include the following:
- A nursing degree from an accredited college or university,
- Minimum Five(5) years of experience providing direct care in long-term care, restorative or geriatric setting as an RN. Current CPR Certification.
- Must also meet state requirements for relevant licensures or certifications and have no disciplinary action in effect against professional license.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide quality nursing care to residents, and to supervise the activities of nursing and assistants. Supervision must be in accordance with federal, state, & local laws and policies of this organization.
Essential Job Functions:
- Supervise nursing care in accordance with rules, regulations & guidelines governing long-term care.
- Ensure all nursing personnel assigned to you comply with written policies and procedures established by this organization.
- Conduct assessments and care plans appropriate for residents admitted to the facility.
- Keep DON informed of information of any changes in resident condition.
- Review, investigate and document properly all incidents/accidents.
- Implement progressive discipline when appropriate.
- Participate in facility surveys made by authorized agencies.
- . Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
- Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations.
- Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
- Ensure adequate medications, supplies, and equipment are available. Report needs to DON.
- Ensure narcotic records are accurate for your shift.
- Notify DON of all drug and narcotic discrepancies.
- Graduate of accredited nursing program.
- Current Massachusetts nursing license as an LPN/RN
- Previous nursing experience in a supervisory role preferred.

- Must have patience, tact, and willingness to deal with difficult residents, family and staff.
- Must be able to relay information concerning a resident’s condition.
- Must not pose a threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace.
