Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides day-to-day medical support and ongoing care for individuals with disabilities in the Adult Training Center and oversees all medical procedures. Will perform all duties necessary to meet state-approved objectives, including the requirement that employees cooperate with the licensee and Division staff in any inspection or investigation.

Description:

  • Coordinate daily care plans for special needs consumers.
  • Provide appropriate medical supports and ongoing care for program consumers.
  • Assists the supervisor in medication administration to assure staff comply with Division/OTC procedures and the paperwork is maintained properly. Provides annual medications training to center staff.
  • Develop recommendations, and communicate any and all consumer-related concerns to the program supervisor and IDT members.
  • Facilitate and monitor any and all medical procedures associated with client care.
  • Assist individuals served with toileting, feeding, and other self-help activities in a caring and responsible manner.
  • Develop and contribute to IHP goals along with the Occupational Therapy staff.
  • Carry out assigned programs in the areas of physical care, recreational activities, self-help, social training, pre-vocational training, community inclusion programming, and the development of functional and cognitive skills.
  • Responsible for calling 911 in life-threatening situations in compliance with Danielle’s Law.
  • Monitor medication administration and maintains paperwork for all program consumers.
  • Maintain Daily Training Records for assigned consumers.
  • Transport consumers to and from residence and various community outings. When driving individuals staff members will ensure individuals, both ambulatory and non-ambulatory, and equipment are properly secured in the vehicle. If a bus aid or other staff member secured individual(s), driver will double-check wheelchair tie-downs and seatbelts to ensure all passengers are properly secured in the vehicle prior to driving.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Nursing.
  • Current Nursing registration and licensure in the State of New Jersey.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of nursing experience working with the DD population.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in the field of developmental disabilities.
  • Acceptable background check and Drug Test.
  • Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record as set by OTC’s Insurance Carrier.
  • Duties include lifting and bending.
  • Ability to perform CPR and First Aid on ground level.
  • Must have Covid vaccinations
  • Monday-Friday 8 am to 4 pm. No weekends and Paid Holidays!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $72,000.00 per year
