Job description
SUMMARY
Plans, organizes, coordinates, and evaluates nutritional component of food services for the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Plans menus and diets for special nutritional requirements.
- Plans menus that meet the nutritional needs of Residents in accordance with recommended dietary allowance and state and federal regulations.
- May supervise food preparation using techniques that conserve nutritional value, flavor, and appearance.
- Assesses patients' nutritional needs
- Counsels residents, their family members, and facility staff on sound nutritional practices to promote good health
- Confers with clinical staff to coordinate patients' nutritional intake
- Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
- Ensures quality assurance processes are followed in preparation of food.
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
- Credentialed as Registered Dietitian.
- Must meet state-specific requirements.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May assist in the supervision of the Food Services staff and others for whom they are administratively or professionally responsible.
