WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

The RVP has overall responsibility for the business units in their region. Will successfully manage and provide leadership in all areas of responsibility within the region including commercial development, customer service, operational excellence, employee engagement, overall financial performance, safety and day to day management of the region. Will promote corporate programs, policies, practices and procedures to ensure safety, operational quality and efficiency and regulatory compliance.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Accountable for all aspects of region management including business planning, workforce planning, financial budgeting and reporting, and safety. Directly supervise Sales Directors, Branch Managers, CFS managers, traffic and revenue management functions.
• Achieve or exceed region performance goals in key metrics such as growth, profitability, safety, productivity, customer satisfaction, employee engagement and regulatory compliance.
• Provide commercial leadership for the region with support from the Sales Director. Develop and maintain relationships with region top customers. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors; negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with corporate policy.
• Measure, promote and reward customer satisfaction and retention resulting in quantifiable improvement.
• Drive employee engagement and accountability throughout the region. Provide leadership to build and maintain a productive, positive work environment. Facilitate alignment of team goals and performance with Vanguard’s vision and culture.
• Maintain a safe workplace for all employees and guests; ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safe work practices, good housekeeping and maintenance practices.
• Drive successful implementation of national and global initiatives in areas such as sales, safety, customer experience, quality, productivity and procurement.
• Oversee region recruitment, training and performance management processes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred

· Minimum 10+ years logistics experience; minimum 10+ years of functional sales and operations management experience

· Microsoft Windows, MS Office

· Fluency in written and verbal English skills required; additional language skills preferred

· Ability to constantly operate a computer/keyboard and other office equipment such as a printer, copier, calculator, etc.

· Ability to travel up to 35% of the time
