JOB DESCRIPTION
Regional Sales Manager – Industrial Products Division
General Definition:
Responsible for managing the overall sales activities of the industrial sales division for a multi-state “Western Region” including Western Canada provinces. Develop and cultivate an efficient distribution organization and direct sales effort in order to achieve and maintain company sales and profit objectives.
Essential Duties:
- Manage, train and cultivate an already established quality distribution network that will focus on achieving optimal monthly sales growth.
- Identify new, niche market opportunities with tailored product applications.
- Develop a direct sales effort to original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) and other end users.
- Develop a proficiency to review engineering specifications and create formal quotations.
- Implement a plan for identifying and obtaining strategic targeted segments in the industrial marketplace.
- Develop a proactive plan to prospect new customers and opportunities and report in CRM system.
- Develop knowledge of company product lines and of competitor products and sales policies and advise management of market changes.
- Establish achievable company sales goals and objectives for both short term results (annually) and long term growth opportunities (5 years).
Non-Essential Duties:
- Perform other related duties as required.
- There may be times when a temporary work assignment is required to meet the requirements of the department. Work assignments will be made at the discretion of management.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
A minimum of 3 years of responsible sales and/or territory management experience in an industrial based industry. Experience in plastics, material handling, water treatment, industrial chemical or automotive lubrication industries will be a benefit to candidates but are not required. Success in cultivating relationships with higher level decision makers in large and medium industrial companies and direct accounts along with an understanding of industrial customer technical specifications is highly desirable. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, knowledgeable and proficient PC skills with emphasis on spreadsheets and word processing and top-notch interpersonal skills with a team oriented way of thinking. Ability to manage customer inquiries and concerns tactfully, timely and professionally is essential. Willingness to travel up to 25-50% of the time is required. An ability to adapt to changing priorities and urgencies dictated by the work environment is important. A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field is preferred.
Authority:
This position reports to the National Sales Manager for the Industrial Products division and interacts closely with inside customer support employees.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
