Sales Territory Manager [Detroit Area]
About the Job:
The Sales Territory Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining the customer base in Michigan area and the Ontario region. The position will be based in the Detroit, MI (or surrounding area), and report to the Machining Division manager. Customer accounts will be in the machining, metal working, automotive, robotic, and aerospace fields, with a concentration on machine builders for tier-one manufacturers. Suhner products are considered engineered/technical items that are application specific therefore an analytical approach is required.
The Sales Territory Manager would be the main contact for the customer on the sales side, as well as provide onsite technical training and troubleshooting. This position would also work closely with our inside engineers to provide technical information for the design and product development to meet our customer's needs. Overnight travel is expected to be between 30-50% with at least one trip per year to Europe.

- Minimum 5 years experience in Industrial Sales for mechanical/technical products
- Machining/tooling and/or technical background required
- Mechanical ability (hands-on) with good troubleshooting skills necessary
- Bachelor's degree in engineering/technical education preferred
- MS-Office proficient
- Contract negotiation and customer development experience is a plus
- Excellent communication skills are a must
- Automation and electrical experience a plus
Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in industrial sales. Applicant must be comfortable in a technical sales organization with maintaining and expanding customer base. Candidate must possess strong presentation skills and communicate professionally in written and verbal form to emails, RFQ's, and reports. Project management and organizational skills are also required, with contract negotiation and customer development preferred.
